Gerald Chamberlain

I was born and grew up in Kazabazua, a small rural town in West Quebec.  Throughout my elementary and secondary school days I loved to draw and paint.

In 1973 I began work for the Federal Government in Ottawa and completed over 35 years of service. I was always interested in painting but had no time to devote for the pastime. In the course of my career I supervised a graphics unit and I successfully completed a correspondence course in Art. In planning for my retirement, I decided to take painting and in the fall of 2011, I located some classes at Art Mad in Stittsville on Acrylic and mixed media provided by Bernice Hennessy. I find that acrylic paints gives me a freedom to work with the colours and experiment with mixtures and textures.

Thanks to Art Mad I was able to display my art work and thanks to an impromptu vernissage I decided to continue to paint.
